Description

It would be nice to have an example to learn how to write its own smart proxies. Also it would be nice to have a programming documentation. So no reverse engeneering will be necessary to write your own smart proxy.

This would be great to open community base smart proxies.

Hello,

we have it.

http://projects.theforeman.org/projects/foreman/wiki/How_to_Create_a_Smart-Proxy_Plugin

You never need to reverse engineer, our codebase is open source and available :-)

I am closing this, feel free to reopen or file another bug if you find a bug there. Or better, make the necessary changes there.

Shame to hear that you think so. I mean it would be nice to have a developer documentation as a starting point to write new smart proxies. Open source in its selfs is not an killer argument. It is more difficult to work out how a thing work on this way.

Ticket was written as feature because it would be a new feature. It would make you documentation more useful i think. Maybe you can put it on you roadmap with a lower severity.

If you think different. C'est la vie.
