I'm seeing this same error while trying to publish:

Same backtrace.

I see the same issue as well when removing a subscription from host. Update from 3.4.0 to 3.4.1.

I am having the same issue when updated to Foreman 1.15 and katello 3.4.

I also had this error when trying to remove a repository in my previous 3.4.1 installation which was updated from 3.4.0 and had existing products (as mentioned in http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/20023).

Fix #19704 also corrected my issue, but I have two questions:

1. How did this get through?
2. I still don't have access to Dynaflow console: "Access forbidden"

This happened due to realted security fix, we already delivered the fix in 1.15 repos in 0.9.2: was there any reason not to update to the new version of foreman-tasks when updating foreman/katello?

Log is the same for Activation key and user registration. The only difference is in 'id'=1 for Activation key and 'id'=3 for admin user.

Is there any workaround for this issue?

It is affecting my daily work. I cannot provision any new systems atm. This is a breakage of crucial functionality on production branch. Can we please raise the priority for this bug.

I just got bit by this as well. As I try to register a host with an activation key, I get the same error as described in here (ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound: Couldn't find User with 'id'=1 [WHERE (1=0)]). The host shows up in Foreman but with a mismatched location and/or organization. After fixing that, re-registering the host with the same activation key is successful. Not sure if this is due to some configuration issue I have on my end or not. Maybe this could work as a workaround for you?

Try this

edit /opt/theforeman/tfm/root/usr/share/gems/gems/katello-3.4.1/app/lib/actions/katello/host/register.rb
at row 62 and add "unscoped." as shown below:
user = ::User.unscoped.find(input[:user_id])

restart

It works for me.
