Description

We currently have the problem that we (for reasons outlined below) have hosts with the same FQDN twice in the list of hosts (https://FOREMAN_URL/hosts). Unfortunately it is not possible to view the details of the two hosts, as the URL to view the host details, https://FOREMAN_URL/hosts/FQDN, is identical for both hosts. The two hosts are present in the database twice, so instead of using the FQDN in the URL it would be good if Foreman used a key which uniquely identifies a host.

You may ask, how do we get the same FQDN twice? We get this sometimes if the host gets different network settings assigned by DHCP (or through manual changes on the client) than what was used during initial provisioning. In this case, the originally provisioned host is present, as well as a second host with the same name but different network settings.

We're running Foreman 1.16.1.
