1. Proposed title of this feature request
Scheduled Job Templates should be named and logged appropriately
3. What is the nature and description of the request? Description of problem:
When scheduling up several of the same templates on different hosts, it is very burdensome to identify which hosts the job would run on. The only way to identify which hosts the job is scheduled to run on is by drilling into the queued item from the jobs page. We need a way to schedule a job template and have either the host collection name or list of server names appear in the job queue.
It would be ideal to have scheduled job names be customized with one or more of the following:
- host collection
- system name
- organization
- location
Additional info:
The use case is for automating system patching by host collection. When running large numbers of host collections, the scheduled jobs are indistinguishable. This RFE would allow the jobs to be viewed by more meaningful name and greatly facilitate release management status and reporting.
