Because of the fix related to the 10px offset in VNC, in which the border was removed and some UI enhancement was done to get the UI to be more in line with the rest of the UI, I overlooked the fact that, on spice console, this change does not look good at all as the shadow is not "attached" to the console and even worse, not in line with VNC.

It appears this does not affect VMWare as the UI seems to be built-up differently (so another mismatch there; unfortunately I don't have any VMWare environment...)
