Repo discovery doesnot report error on invalid values

Description
Repo Discovery does not report on any errors on invalid non existent Urls, or invalid username/passwords instead it just says "No discovered repositories".
1) Go to Content-> Products
2) Click repo discovery
3) Select repo type as yum
4) enter a bad URL that 404's
Expected:
An error saying "discovery url is invalid"
Actual:
No repos are discovered and no errors are reported.
