It sure would be nice to be able to have some type of hostname validation that the user could put somewhere in the configuration. This could prevent users from doing something like trying to build a Windows host with more than 16 characters, then having to get through the entire build process and troubleshoot the result of the truncation of the hostname on the client side.

This has bitten me more than once... and others.
