Possibility to get email-notification for failed repo-syncs

Description

At the moment it is necessary to make an API-call to check the repository-sync-status (which depending on the amount of repositories can be time-consuming and use quite a bit computational resources).

Suggestion:
When sync-plans are being run, in case one (or more) repository syncs fail: at the end of the bulk sync job, could an error report be created and be sent via Email notification?
