Bug #31222
closedContent Repo Discovery Succeeds but fails
Description
So using the repository discovery option under products the raw log under tasks shows successful stopped and shows all the repo urls but in the Discover repo menu the cancel button just sits and spins.
Theres nothing in the error log under the task as it seems to complete.
I;'m new to Katello and Foreman so not sure what log could help, but i cant see much on the journalctl log
Foreman version is 2.2.0
Katello 3.17.0rc2.2

Hi Rich,
What is the repository that you're trying to access? Are you using a proxy, or does your Katello server have direct internet access to the repository in question? Sometimes connectivity issues can cause the spinning you mentioned.

So the repo is http://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/centos/7 and under repo discovery it just spins but the task under foreman shows complete and the full repo list below it. but on the rep discovery page never shows the list to select and add to a product
If i create a product and add a repo it syncs fine
Katello is behind a proxy and thats been set via the proxy area and also been added into the yum_importer.yaml under the pulp config file

- Target version set to Katello 4.0.0
- Triaged changed from No to Yes
Thanks Rich,
We'll look into that, it sounds like there could be an existing bug there.

Hey Rich,
Are you still seeing this. I was able to discover repos on the URL you mentioned and it did behave as expected.
Updated by Samir Jha about 4 years ago
So the discovered repositories become available for adding after the task has completely run. The repos are disabled for selection till the task is complete. Did you see the task complete successfully?
