I was able to successfulyl connect via hammer. Listing hosts works fine.

hammer host update --name <hostname> --build true results in the following message:

Partition Table cant be blank unless a custom partition has been defined

Please note that while working with the webui - the host can be placed in "build" mode with no issues.
