Description

Dear All,

Very simple question: I am new to this and trying to provision a new host but after some configuration and tried to build such as host, I got this message "The selection hosts will execute a build operation on next reboot". What/how do I do the next reboot?

Thanks for any help!

Manually - over SSH, or via a console? Virtual machines and bare metal (when configured with IPMI) can have power functions controlled by Foreman and you can power down/up from the UI, but otherwise manual.

Thanks for your quick help!
There must be something I am missing: I am trying to provisioning such new host therefore, there is no host to ssh in. Are you saying I need to provision a bare metal system or partition first and then tie the foreman to that?

Sorry for asking basic question but thanks.

If you're creating a new host in Foreman in order to provision it, and you've set up PXE booting then you can turn it on to PXE boot it or use the boot disk menu to ISO boot it.

You may want to take this to the foreman-users mailing list, or #theforeman on Freenode as you'll get a wider audience and hopefully better response.
