Description

when creating an ec2 instance out of an instance-store AMI, it can not be shut down from the foreman UI. We get this error message: Failed to stop something.foo.com: UnsupportedOperation => The instance 'i-a5c93e45' does not have an 'ebs' root device type and cannot be stopped.

this error is received because we issue a stop command, when we issue a terminate command (deleting the host) it works. IMHO we should hide the shutdown button in case of instance store image.

  • Priority changed from Normal to Low

set priority to low because deleting the host does work, and this is a UX issue.
