Description

Debian Wheezy machines can be joined to IPA domains (http://nadirlatif.me/installing-freeipa-client-debian/). If mod_lookup_identity is packaged to dependencies, then installations on Debian could authenticate against IPA server.

I've done some testing and I have reached to a conclusion that packaging libapache2-mod-lookup-identity to Foreman's repo is not worth it at this time. I was able to build the required Apache modules to Debian Wheezy but the IPA-authentication also requires sssd-dbus that is not currently available in Wheezy. Packaging also that (and possibly other packages for dependencies) would lead to various other dependencies.

I think the Debian community has to wait for Jessie to be released as stable.

Thanks, closing for now. Probably it would be a good idea to open a PPA or similar for older Debian/Ubuntu distros with those packages.
