Description

When Provisioning a host to VMWare, vsphere shows that the host is setup with an E1000 Ethernet, LSI Logic Parallel adapter for SCSI and the Guest OS profile seems to default to unknown Linux 32 bit.

Obviously for older kernels and OS distributions, this is the "base" version that is needed to install but any RHat 6.x based distro or 5x running UEK doesn't have this restriction.

Since i provision ONLY redhat 6.x environments and ONLY 64bit - can we either define the base components of the VM or make it editable?

We want to use VMXNet 3 Ethernet, Paravirtual SCSI interface and want to make sure that the host profile is set to "Redhat Linux 6 64bit".

Is there a template i can edit that sets the defaults?

Can this be done via Compute Profiles now?

The new compute profiles answer this beautifully after the 1.5.1 update.
