Description of problem:

UI currently displays "Lifecycle" in many places. "Life Cycle" is always two words.

"Life Cycle" as two words was discussed and agreed to by the Red Hat Style Guide group (Word Nerds).

Moving over from another bug

Description of problem:

Satellite 6 as a whole and the web UI in particular is inconsistent in its use of "life cycle" as a term.

We need to align terminology with accepted terms from the RH Style Guide. In this case:

"Life-cycle Environment" is correct. (compound adjective, hyphenated, lowercase "cycle".)

"life cycle" is correct in general copy. (Lowercase, two words.)

"(L|l)ifecycle" is never correct, unless it's an actual product name.

Google 'lifecycle' and you will find major organizations such as Amazon, Google and Microsoft using the compound word. #justsayin

If this change is made, it will also need to update:

  • katello.org documentation
  • any error messages
  • hammer lifecycle-environment should be updated to 'hammer life-cycle-environment'
  • API docs and potentially parameter should reflect the compound word?
