I am skipping 1.16 as test as I have upgraded my lab.
Something that caused me a number of debugging hours is that the output from hammer for
hammer --output json hostgroup list --order
Is different the KeyName "Environment" gets changed to "Puppet Environment" while to a human this is fine. A Script using this key, will start to fail in 1.17 as the keyName has changed.
I am reporting this so that others may see it and not spend the same hours debugging code only to find that the cause of the issue is that the Datasource Keyname had changed.

workaround is of course change the code to use new KeyName
