In order to be able to rebuild a capsule in case of a disaster as quick as possible it is essential to also be able to backup and restore a capsule.
Given that a capsule is not only used for spreading workload but also for content and more (e.g. puppet), some times especially at locations with low bandwidth (sync over night or quite long syncs) is is essential to restore this from a local backup as resyncing from the satellite again could last a quite long time.
