Ohai,

currently, when creating a subnet via the API, one can set IPAM to "external" and also assign a smart proxy, but one cannot select the external ipam group.

the same is possible in the UI: https://github.com/theforeman/foreman/blob/develop/app/views/subnets/_fields.html.erb#L26-L28
