Notes from discussions on the subject:

  • First task: try it out, see how far off we are from getting it working
  • yum install katello
  • katello-installer
  • Do we axe the initial org?
  • certs setup
  • ditch katello-ca? use puppet's CA (investigate)
    - email foreman-users to get an idea of what users do
    - would users want import/export instead of in place upgrade
  • Just provide an export/import process ?
  • uninstall is unsupported
  • turning Foreman proxy into a capsule: investigate
    - Don't overwrite existing configurations if possible
  • Ensure default locaiton
  • Move foreman-proxy to top level (not wrapped by capsule), pending segfault resolution
  • Allow/support Katello running without Candlepin and Pulp (requires full removal of ES)

+1 here as well. It looks like this feature did not make it in to Katello 2.2... can a best guess be given on timeline at this time?
